Canberra Airport

Not the best experience I've had at CBR airport, getting through security was not a pleasant or speedy experience. Almost, almost I say, as bad as coming through security when there are many flights. 15 people 15 minutes, leave your laptop in the bag, don't leave your laptop in the bag, take off you coat, take off your scarf, not me a lady, take off you belt, put you clothing, that you had to take off, under the plastic flap really?It's easier and quicker going through international security in Melbourne and Sydney during peak.Well almost!Other than that really good!

Canberra Airport is a good airport. It’s a small but reliable airport. Short wait times, distance to gates are short, a couple spots to eat during appropriate hours and a nice array of general stores typical in an airport. Taxis seem to come at any time necessary which is very convenient, especially from a late night flight. Only inconvenience is that the stores are closed during these times, meaning we have to go elsewhere for food.Good airport. Good toys too.

We took a flight from this small but nice airport. It's just a short walk from the entrance to check in counters and then another short walk past security to the gates. The airport is very clean and not crowded with several food outlets serving coffee, sandwiches and more. The ground staff were also very helpful.

The best thing about CBR is that it's small, so it's really easy to get around. The security checks have long been the most efficient, no need to remove laptops from bags, body scanners, etc.The food options are limited, but pretty good.

Quiet. Clean. Nice. Opens at 5am but doors are unlocked if you like to sit and wait till your time.

Very clean , with some nice coffee shops . Noticed it is a lot cheaper to buy some cold drinks from the vending machine.

Great new spacious facility. Was there to pick up this H130 and fly it to Melbourne for the Avalon Air Show this weekend.

Basic airport and relatively small compared to other Australian capital cities. It’s situated approx 9km from the city centre and since there is very little traffic in Canberra the journey into the city takes no longer than 15 minutes. You can either take a bus ($9.95/day) or a taxi ($25) into town. The airport is boring.. a few small shops with overpriced restaurants. Any ‘exotic’ food is rarely authentic. Security can be slow with only two scanning machines operating. Boarding and disembarking is quick as you can often exit from the front/back of the planes. I liked that Canberra does an acknowledgment of country upon landing. You wouldn’t want to have a long layover at this airport as it’s quite boring.

The signage was clear and informative, guiding passengers in the right direction.The seating areas were comfortable and spacious, allowing for a relaxed wait.Moreover, I was impressed by the cleanliness and overall tidiness of the airport. The facilities were well-maintained, and I noticed regular cleaning efforts throughout my time there. This attention to cleanliness enhanced my overall experience and added to the pleasant atmosphere.Another highlight of Canberra Airport was the efficiency of the security and boarding procedures. The security staff conducted their duties with professionalism and ensured a smooth process. The boarding announcements were clear, and the boarding gates were conveniently located, minimizing any unnecessary stress.In conclusion, Canberra Airport exceeded my expectations as a departure point for my friend. The excellent parking facilities, friendly staff, cleanliness, and efficient procedures all contributed to a positive and hassle-free experience. I would highly recommend Canberra Airport to both travelers and visitors. It truly sets a high standard for airport experiences.
