Darwin International Airport
Quite a nice airport!Haven’t flown international from Darwin, but domestic travel has been a pleasant experience. Darwin Airport has the more modern scanners so no need to drop laptops out. There are nice restaurant and bar facilities.Qantas Club Lounge is also really nice (lots of photos from here).Easy access to the main tourist and business areas of Darwin as well.

Be very careful with wallets at the security check. It's gang of thieves. They get you to put everything under the mat in a tray. Then destract you pretending that there was something in your pocket. I had absolutely empty pockets. My wallet went missing while they engaged me in a conversation at x ray machine booth. By the time I noticed and called it was too late. Lost more than $1000.Dodgy security staff. Seems like its they are all in it as a gang.

Security staff are incredibly disorganised, and very poorly trained. The equipment at Darwin is the same as Canberra yet the rules are very different. Removing belt and watches in Darwin but not in. One person in front of me was embarrassed publicly because of his incontinence pad. Seriously a head or two should roll for that!!

This is a relatively small airport but staff are friendly and getting through check in and security was quick and uneventful. The Qantas lounge is huge presumably partly as a result of the period it was being used for the direct London flights. It is clean and very tidy with a good selection of snack and meal options. All in all a pleasant experience.

Totally agree with the review Nandan W wrote: be very vigilant at security screening area. I didn't have money stolen but expensive lightweight hiking gears. These people involved in thiefing from travelers know exactly what they were looking for and cooperate in a team to distract and stell from travelers who have things they want. My carry-ons were given special attention during security screening: the guy fiddled around with both bags, looked the items and then decided one of the bags where my expensive lightweight windshield and waterproof groundsheet (which packed into palm-size) are in need of going through the screening conveyor belt again. I waited and waited at the inside end. My flight back to Perth was doing its final boarding call and my bag finally came through the conveyor belt, zipped up properly. I didn't think to check inside as I haven't lost any luggage at any airports' security check before (I traveled many countries and cities in Australia). I only discovered that my windshield was missing when I needed it after landing in Perth's 8 degree night! In the pocket of my windshield are my house key and a very compact 1st aid tool pack. Tidying up my gears next-day, I found my lightweight waterproof groundsheet was missing too. Calling Darwin airport all I get is voice message saying to email them. My email to the address given gets no feedback whatsoever.

Darwin international airport.tone of the top international airports in Australia clean tidy and very well presented all the shops located inside the facility are very clean an tidy as well all the staff in the shops are very polite and helpful friendly. The airport staff are very well organised and very helpful and friendly are only 2 willing to help you. Checking in and bags it's all well set out easy to get to even the xray an scanner area it's all explained to you even if your pull aside for personal checks which I don't mind at all its keeps all safe then I'm more than happy to have it done. The Darwin international airport is a credit to all that are involved with the running of the airport and all so the many airlines that use the airport to bring people in and out of the northern territory. Well done to the people who own and run it. It all so comes down to the staff on the ground with out them it would not be possible well done to them 5/5 stars ✨️

Very clean and well maintained Airport. Due to the smaller size, shopping hours can be limited depending on your travel times. The Dome offers a good range of food & drinks with friendly staff. Also a Newsagent, Hungry Jacks and a gift shop called the Australian Way.The Green Room offers hot & cold drinks and a range of wraps, sandwiches & fresh fruits. There is plenty of seating here at Gate 9 next to the Green Room. There are 3 ATM's available, up the escalators, and to the right.Wheelchair ♿ access and parking is available, with taxi's out the front.

Pretty good for a small town. The bar in departures could do with more and better table clearing and cleaning......the bar staff have to do it themselves and serve. Management.......what do you think happens during busy times!

Ok well it's an airport and we'll it's a place we have to use if we want to get anywhere by air , the place is clean ; the Staff at the Airport all seem nice and friendly as do all the Staff at Stores , Bar and Cafe , all the security measures in place seem to be running fine and really don't have any problems using the facility wich at the moment use quite regularly as a FIFO worker and the long stay pay parking is pretty good value.
