Archer Park Rail Museum & Function Room | Rockhampton, Queensland | Featuring a restored Purrey Steam Tram, one of nine tramcars and six trailers that operated in Rockhampton (1909 to 1939) and built in the 1930’s, the museum can boast its true heritage with its renovated classic trains.

Archer Park Rail Museum
Lovely experience! 10$ entry for adults, and spent about 1-1.5 hours there. There was a wonderful volunteer, Alex, that talked with us quite a bit and showed us little things around the museum. Even people doing cleaning stopped and showed us around! Above and beyond.

Open day.. paid entry fee $4 adult $2 child. Then $2.50 a train ride..Expensive Expensive.Parking ok. Pretty building. Informative

The volunteers have really put their all into this place. Beautiful displays and very clever soundscape on the platform with life like models. My kids loved the ride on the tram. A well spent morning in Rockhampton.

Great historical place to visit. Staff is fantastic. Price very reasonable. Access to trains. Informative videos through out the museum. Nice place to have morning tea.

A hidden gem. If you get the chance to go don't hesitate. From Kate at the entrance desk to Alex negotiating the rail, it's informative and extremely well done. Well worth the money.

Archer Park Rail Museum
Came across Archer Park Rail Museum when I went to visit the CQ Military Museum, which turns out to be right next to it and couldn't help but to go in too. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and great exhibits. They also have the only operational steam powered Purrey Tram in the world. Worth the visit.

Archer Park Rail Museum
This is a nice museum with amazingly preserved pieces of history. Nearly in the heart of Rockhampton, inside the railway station you will discover how the trains of the area operated over the centuries and what it meant for the growth of the town.Staff members looking after the place are always smiling and passionate about this important place. Enjoy taking a look at what the inside of the carriages used to be and get a fantastic photo of sitting in the train driver's seat! Lastly, have a ride on the tram cart that travels through the town, lots of fun for the family.
