Wagga Wagga Rail Heritage Station Museum

Beautiful place and the volunteers are a great source of Knowledge. Great place for families or just anyone interested in the golden days of the railway.

Still in use on the Main South Line, Wagga Wagga Railway Station is heritage listed and was completed in 1879. If you find yourself passing through you could take a little while to tap into Wagga Wagga and the Riverina region’s rail heritage.You can start on the platform where there’s an exhibition of archive photography and artefacts.Cross the footbridge and you can take a peek inside the old gang sheds, housing vintage tools, railway trikes and yet more memorabilia and photographs.In a separate building close by you can also check out the station’s heritage model trains, including several different working layouts for both freight and passenger trains.

Very nice area

The mini railway is a fun place to take the kids for a quick little ride on a mini train. Very affordable and lovely surroundings.

Great place to visit. Artifacts were well presentes and the lady in charge was very kind. Souvenirs are available.

Visited when the steam train was last in Wagga. Small buiding, good quality train heritage.

Absolutely beautifully maintained operational station, where the annual picnic steam train runs for two days every June, does hourly trips & a 5 hour return trip up to Cootamundra via the Bethungra Spiral, on the Saturday evening.

Open more days then google says, both parts of the museum had friendly staff and great exhibits.
