Tumgun Lookout

A incredible viewing point of the Headlands. The view spans right across the Tallebudgera Creek and beyond.The half mile (800m) hike up to it is fairly easy and well paved, with a few steep bits and occasional steps - it's really not suitable for buggies/strollers and even worse for wheelchair users. There is loads to see along the way, as it is a section of (prehistoric) rainforest which was once connected with the Daintree rainforest near Cairns! Keep your eyes peeled for snakes, lizards, birds etc.There are two paths, a high one over the hill and the lower one which runs closer to the sea, however a large rock-slide has recently closed off the lower path.

Apparently I was here today. Never known it as Tumgun lookout, referred to locally as co*k rock". Anyway

Great views. The walk is sure to get your heart rate up, challenging , yet rewarding walk. Unfortunately, the circuit around the heads was closed. So we had to walk around the hard way through the top circuit.
