Never seen a bad show at the Hayes and just saw Gentleman Prefer Blonds last night despite an ‘average’ (3.5 star) review. Just proves by wary of reviewers because this was a hands down 5 star performance with standing ovation - AWESOME!

Like Musical Theatre? You must make Hayes your go-to!Hayes are renowned for staging completely new takes of musicals you know, and for also bringing (brilliant) new works to the stage. Their productions are also consistently of the highest calibre.One of the joys of Hayes is seeing how they transform the intimate stage space for every show.So much creativity abounds.

Intimate theatre offers better views and interaction with performersWe caught Cry-Baby at Hayes Theatre. The show was great. The cosy theatre contributed to that as it offers good views even from the seats at the back. The size also meant that shows are more likely to be designed such that performers interact with the audience.There’s a Bar offering drinks and snacks. A laid-back venue but a great experience!

Small live theatre in the heart of cosmopolitan Potts Point. Seats about 120 only, but the views of the stage are great. A bar is available for pre show drinks, and at interval, and a wide balcony overlooking Greenknowe Ave. Very pleasant indeed. Easy access via train to Kings Cross and a 8min stroll, or catch the 310 bus from Wynyard to Greenknowe Ave. This particular night, we had the pleasure to see Dale Burridge's At The Crossroads, a very entertaining bio of his career through music.

Difficult rating and it hovers between 4 & 5.Usually great productions for such a small and intimate theatre, it is small and seats a max of 120 persons. The productions they put on are really well designed for the space and smartly done.Being a smaller theatre the seating is acceptable but some may struggle after a 3 hour show (sore bum).In these later years, it seems they are trying to be ‘woke’ in their casting, I don’t think it always works though.We saw rent at Hayes and Angel character would have been a perfect casting opportunity for a more diverse character casting.I do love the Hayes Theatre though and would recommend it

The View Upstairs is not to be missed. Great theatre space now under the stewardship of David and Lisa Campbell presenting musical productions and showcasing Australia’s best and brightest musicians, singers, directors, set designers, lighting experts. An intimate space seating 100 so a great up and close experience for everyone.
