Royal Standard Hotel
I came down from Newcastle for an event in Melbourne and went here for a meal and a beer. First impression was there are great people who run this place and nice staff. Super friendly Irish bloke behind the bar and one of the best pizzas I've had. Took half of it back to the hotel in a take away box because it was so huge! Thanks

A lovely pub with generous portion sizes and a fabulous mushroom sauce for the snitty. Don't order the garlic bread unless you're really hungry as the servings are big! Great food and really well priced. Friendly staff

We had been to the night market, but the lines were far to long for food.So we popped in here, and so glad we did.It was quite busy for a Wed, so we sat in back room.The waitress was welcoming and freindly.She took our drink orders which came out straight away.Our food order was taken and this came out in good time also.We started with aranchini to sure, which was very tasty.The good looking half both had schnitzel, they both enjoyed it but could not finish the chicken.We had the battered fish, that was enjoyed also. I had the 8hr pork ribs. WOW so good fell off the bone and tasted so good.Chips and salad were also nice.We finished off with coffee!!Overall a great meal and good service.Thanks RSH

Such a great experience (I’m writing this as a stuffed satisfied customer).The pub is very homey, and has an old school comfort vibe.I understand it’s a family run business, with majority of the menu being Italian.The portion sizes are enormous, which I loved.Meals are definitely value for money.We got the polenta chips, seafood pasta and the baked barramundi (which was on special).The seafood pasta was amazing.When I come back again (which I will), I will struggle to order something other than the seafood pasta (it was that good).

Long time pub that has been through a few owners, as it stands in 2023 the food is great with a wide selection of items. Staff are good. Lots of outdoor seating on a quiet street.

Really nice old school pub in the streets of West Melbourne. The food is pretty good, I love the Pizzas, the staff are great on a busy Friday lunch time and the owners are on deck making sure everything is good. If you're looking for something to eat or just a pint or two, you can't go to far wrong here.
