African Oz Drum 'n' Dance

The African Oz Drum N Dance crew were an absolute highlight of our event. Their workshop set up alone set a fascinating and engaging scene for the impending activities. The crew were generous with their flexibility when we had some last minute changes to our event program and we couldn’t thank them enough for that especially when they had travelled from Perth. The crew present an exciting workshop and our audience participation was the biggest I have ever seen. Adults and children alike delighted in the opportunity to learn some drumming and enjoy the music. They followed up with a dance performance that thoroughly entertained all our attendees. We will not hesitate to book the African Oz Drum N Dance crew for our next event!

The team from African Oz Drum 'n' Dance were fantastic to deal with from start to finish. So engaging and mesmerizing - a number of friends commented on the magic that they felt as then got right into the experience. Odai has delivered African Drumming workshops for my organisation the Song Room at Primary Schools in Perth for the past two years. I couldn't recommend him highly enough. He delivers long term African drumming programs to disadvantaged schools, inspiring children and staff alike. His workshops are inspiring, engaging fun and I consistently get outstanding feedback from principals about the success of his programs. In six months he will have whole classes of young children mastering difficult patterns, rhythms and drumming techniques and will sound amazing. My first introduction to African Oz Drum 'N' Dance happened in 2015 when Odai and Aylee ran a 6 month workshop at the school I teach at. Odai's passion for African drum and dance was infectious. The kids absolutely loved it!The program finished with two public performances, led by Odai and he even came back to perform at our school's Christmas concert! We were so inspired by the workshops that our school purchased a class set of djembes through Odai.I have been learning drumming with Odai through his weekly classes for the last 18 months and in that time, I have progressed from being an absolute beginner with no drumming skills to performing at gigs and running the drumming club at my school, thanks to the expert instruction of Odai.Both Odai and Aylee's passion and enthusiasm for African drum and dance has opened a whole new, exciting world for me and I love the feeling of being part of the amazing community they have created. Odai is a spirited, positive and talented musician and dancer who knows how to capture, energise and engage his audience! To top it off, he's a delight and ease to work with.

We will always remember the day the drums came to our aged care facility. Our residents range from 70yo to 103yo. The room was full of residents and Odai had a drum ready for everyone. Aylee started playing the big drums and Odai taught us how to follow along and become part of the rhythm. We even learned some African dances and songs. We really made a lot of noise that day!!!Odai is so lovely and engaging and inspiring that everyone joined in and had a wonderful time. Even those who thought they were too old to learn something new!

Heart, passion, rhythm and fire. I have been to many African drum and dance workshops and seen many African performers, but nobody does it quite like Odai. His love and passion for his craft bursts through in everything he does. The most talented all round performer I've ever had the privilege to watch and learn from. I highly recommend anything he does.

Odai provided the entertainment for a joint birthday we held. Both DJing and a drums/interactive dance performance. Was fantastic at both. Had people of all ages up & dancing. Really got the party started.Would thoroughly recommend you get him along to any party/function you hold.Whatever the occasion
