We are travelling Australia by 4WD and caravan, and Steven cut a spare car key for us at short notice among his busy schedule. His service was excellent and he went above and beyond to provide us with additional travel safety and security advice while we're travelling in the Pilbara/Kimberley region. What a brilliant experience all round! Can’t recommend highly enough! While in Karijini, half way through our 4 month travel adventures, we had a key break off in the lock to our food and fridge compartment in our camper trailer so that we couldn’t open it. What a stroke of good luck that I called Steve at Gadget Locksmiths! He was empathic from the start and despite his busy schedule he was able to fix our broken lock when we arrived in Port Hedland that same day. Whilst I was very impressed with his professional and efficient service, it was everything else he did in addition that left a lasting impression on our whole family. He greeted our kids and set them up with a Bluey cartoon, refreshing drinks from his bar fridge and some lollies then set to work. As he worked, he provided a tour guide’s snapshot of Port Hedland (where we’d had to make an unexpected overnight stay) and gave great advice on managing locks and keys when driving off-road to ensure they keep working. It was clear he wanted us to have a really positive experience in both Port Hedland and WA. One great recommendation was to use a signal blocking key hider for our spare car fob. We can leave the spare fob in the locked car and take the main fob plus the metal key from the spare so that we never get stuck being unable to drive our car if something happens to the main fob! This is a great tip for travelers who are going off the beaten track, over the Gibb River Road, hiking mountains and gorges and swimming in waterfalls and beaches.Steve told us he wants to change tourists’ perception of Port Hedland and he certainly changed it for us. I think he’s the Steve Irwin of locksmiths, clearly very passionate about his job and helping people. I hope many people get to meet this great Aussie guy.

Couldn’t recommend Gadget Locksmiths more highly! Steve and Karen are the nicest, most genuine people and they really helped us out of a hole today. We’re on a big lap of Australia, stopped into Port Hedland to do some laundry and stock up, then found we couldn’t open one of the locks on our ute canopy.Steve stepped away from the work he had on to help us out.Super knowledgeable, very professional, amazing little space for the kids to sit and watch Bluey while they waited.Honestly the kind of service that if he’d charged double we would have still been happy. Extremely outstanding service. Steve was very helpful, friendly and took the time to assess and solve our problem when we were in a pinch. He was very competent and we couldn't have run into a better locksmith. Can highly recommend.
