Taste Dumpling
Taste dumplings may look like a very old and run down Chinese store, but they offer a very large menu that is complimented with very large portion sizes for the price. Although some menu items are bland and underwhelming such as the crispy chicken with rice other meals where stunning with flavour, this includes the most of the pork meals, noodles meals and all of the dumplings. The down sides are the persecution of the meals, the atmosphere of the restaurant and the lack of service skills/commutation from staff.

Went for family lunch. haven’t been here for a year or so due to covid and was so excited to be back. Was a bit surprised to find the restaurant in a run down state, no lights were on, it was cold inside, hardly any customer and no music.They closed the upstairs place as well, presumably due to lack of customers. The service is poor, they forgot to give us tea, and the only great thing about this place is the food although price has increased a lot and they charge 50c for takeaway container and 20c for shopping bag. Such a pity to see a great restaurant in this state now, used to be family favourite.

Good food value for money, We ordered a spicy Chicken with rice it was actually enough for 2. How ever my choice of ordering wasn't the greatest, i ordered a pork knuckle buy I didn't realize it was a pickle, so it didn't taste as i expected, the fault was mine for not reading the menu properly. Overall i recommend this place for a good value meal

Aaaa good ol taste dumplings. Here's what's up folks. What they lack in class, cleanliness, and probably basic standards of most hospitable places. They much up in spades on price, taste and options. My go to... dumplings duh.. pork, chicken and prawn, fried, boiled, they're pretty good. Other go to includes the Shanghai fried noodles and secretly the pork knuckle is fantastic.

Ordered a bowl of 12x pork wan tons. Not edible. Very very salty wan tons. Texture of filling was very dry; no flavour notes whatsoever, just extremely salty and it tasted more like beef. Forced myself to eat half, left the other half. Informed waiter that these dumplings were too salty. He did not offer at least half of a refund. What a total waste of money. There were only 2 other tables being served and i had to wait for an extremely long time for this one bowl of wan tons to arrive on the table.

This is one of our regular dinner places if we happened to be wandering around Burwood Highway. The place is quite unassuming but we always like the food that reminded us of northern Chinese cuisine we tasted in Beijing circa mid 1990s and comes with complementary tea.

We got more than we anticipated and the value was so good!! We ordered three dishes and had leftovers for the next couple of days. This place is next to Deakin, and really appeals to uni students.

We ordered fried vermicelli with prawns, hot and sour soup noodles, fried pork and cabbage dumplings, Indonesian fried rice and fried red bean pancakes. The fried vermicelli is very good. The Indonesian fried rice and pork dumplings are not bad but the hot and sour soup is average, not spicy nor sour. Overall, the food decent.
