What a great step back in time.For a very reasonable fee, you can spend a couple of hours seeing railway as it was.Getting a better understanding of the environment of rail and the complexity of running it.They have quite a few train carriages that have been restored.It is certainly one of the better step back in times in Australia.

Very interesting place. Free. Worth a visit. Don't miss this place. Old trains you can walk thru, and the whole place you can go back in time. Wonderful

What a unexpected relaxed stop. Friendly volunteers, some greatHistory an memorabilia from railway I've been to a few railway stations and museums and this one had plenty of stuff had not seen before in a beautiful building.Pity to see such iconic railways not operating anymore. This is the next best thing.

Comprehensive museum of everything it too to build and run the rail road that went through Tenterfield. Friendly staff. Well marked.. loads of photos too

They have been lovingly restoring all this past history and its amazing to see and also be able to intetact by touching and playing with controls etc. A must see and only about $7.00 per person but bring cash they didnt have eftpos and the same if you want to buy something in the gift shop.

Tenterfield Railway Museum
The volunteers have done a great job!It feels like the ticket and station masters offices were vacated yesterday. There's 2 trains from way back with carriages you can walk through as well as workshop displays and a 3x5m diorama of Tenterfield with a trainset.There's photos of the men that cut the sleepers and their monster chainsaws are in the workshop.Its well worth a visit to imagine the challenges of their way of life.

Great way to spend a couple of hours. So much to see and enjoy. My husband loved looking at all the old machinery and engines. Hats off to everyone who works so hard to preserve this important part of Australia's history. Make sure you go back at night to take photos of this beautiful building under spotlight.

Lots to see and you can get into most of the carriages and locos. The historical walk is definitely worth doing Lots of history and interesting books and manuals inside the station. Was a market also happening on the day we went. You're welcome to take your dog into the museum.

Beautifully presented historic train station. We enjoyed reminiscing over riding the old trains. Lots of information and items. Well worth a visit.
