Mangalore Aerodrome
Mangalore airport is located in central Victoria near Seymour and the huge Puckapunyal military base.Not much modern at this airport, it looks much as it would have in the 1940s when it was built as an RAAF military field.2 landing strips, one close to 2km and the other near 1.5km long.We visited on a weekday afternoon and the entire area was deserted apart from the caretaker.Plenty of parking.The old Control Tower, shed on sticks style, and the Beacon tower in the car park are of historical interest. Apart from a few private planes, Cessna's etc parked near the terminal there is not much else here for public viewing.
