Delicious food and a great experience trying new cuisine. A really wholesome place supporting refugee women ❤️

I first stumbled across this place after discovering that the three monkeys had closed down as I was looking for a place to eat with a friend.. I’m so glad I gave it a go as the woman who runs it has such a warm and welcoming energy and the food is beautiful. Very traditional flavours and you can taste the love that goes into it.Love the very non pretentious and homely vibe. Especially in stark contrast to the new developments across the road!Highly recommend.

A wonderful restaurant. Unassuming from the front, like many such places it's on the inside that counts. My wife and I had the share platter with Kantisha (mushroom and capsicum stew), Brusn (the best lentils I've had - and I've had a lot!) and Bierai (beef stew which my wife said was sensational). Before the share plate came out, the share entree of dips was fantastic, each one completely different from each other, and the flatbread-cross-crepe is a chewy delight that mopped everything up perfectly. As some of the other reviews have said, this is not fast food, but a great place to while away the night with company. If this is your thing, you will love it. We will definitely be coming back.

The food was nice, we had the $39 banquet menu and enjoyed learning about the Eritrean history on the walls - only downside was that we had to wait about 90 minutes after we we’re only told it would be 15 minutes

Food was very tasty however, there was definitely not enough of it for our group, there were also only 2 ladies working in the whole place (including cooking) so the wait time was really long, there was no music no vibe, we weren't even offered drinks!! A nice not for profit idea but terribly managed in my opinion.

One of the best dining experiences in West End. Really part of the community. A must-do if you're in the area, I had food that I've never had before and haven't found anywhere else and it was all delicious!

Excellent.Home-style from the Welcome to the Goodbye.Subtle flavours and sloooow-cooking goodness. And (wonderfully surprising) attention to detail. So impressed - we never order dessert or coffee.Until now...Very glad we did.The dessert creation (there is no other word for it) was light and layered, the accompaniment thoughtful and complimentary. The coffee was strong and fragrant, enhanced by perfectly cooked unsalted popcorn (amazingly apt) and a haze of frankincense (also perfect). Please be aware: this is not Fast Food. It's not meant to be, and nowhere does Mu'ooz claim this.Mama Saba will cook up a feast for you and, at the finish, maybe tell you a story about real life and real people. So set aside some time to enjoy a break from the rat-race (and maybe enjoy a conversation with your fellow-diners and host). Please bear in mind that this is not a commercial enterprise run by a TV chef or a franchise chain where you'll get the same instant stuff-in-a-bucket made by a teenager wherever you are in the world. This is home cooking with all the character of genuine love.Sometimes Mama Saba has to do it all herself. This is not haute cuisine and you won't be attended to by someone unctuous called Bruno who probably spends more on beard-grooming than the cost of your meal.If you're the sort of person that gripes about a one dollar surcharge (previous review) for using a card (this costs them money, too, you know), rather than even considering a tip (what's that?), well, it must be a very sad and frustrating life for you. This is different. Allow it to be. Support it, and you just might learn something more important than you would in a Michelin-starred establishment. You'll probably eat better, too!I tried to take photos of the food, but we ate it.

Really tasty food, we would recommend the platter to share and another dish for a family of 4. Flavoursome and experience if you have younger kids, we have 2 just turned teens and they liked it. The drinks are different to what we have tasted before but worth a try.

Had a great dinner, we ordered the share platter for 4, it comes with 5 dishes so we got to experience 5 different meals amount us. The food was amazing and the staff very very friendly. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. To top it all off it is a non for profit venture to help employ people coming to Brisabne from Africa.
