Loved this place! So much South Australian History intertwined with our public ( especially tram) history. Great displays, loads of photos. Volunteers had lots of interesting stories. Entrance fee included a tram ride. However, for me, the displays of actual early trams and the incredible workmanship including; carpentry and leadlight panels was just stunning! Many of the displays ( such as signal box) are interactive. The museum is on a large lot of land so taking a picnic lunch on a fine day would be nice! Put this on your must do family outing list and support the keeping of our history.

Fascinating look back at the old trams and buses, it's wheelchair accessible but not friendly, gravel and lumps and the day we went the accessible tram was broken but with limited mobility we were able to get on one anyway, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the non functioning vehicles are stored in sheds with posters with information about them, very hot in the sheds. Be sure to check wheels and shoes after visiting as there are many spiky spores in the area

I spent 3 hours climbing in and out of many well preserved and presented trams. I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 tram rides from the museum along the line to the adventure playground. You can also catch the tram from the playground to the museum and return. Incredible staff really made a huge contribution to my enjoyment of the museum

Has various trams (Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney) as well as trolley (electric) buses. Best part is tram rides (three were running on the day) to the playground. You can buy tickets to the museum and rides from the St Kilda Playground. Really friendly volunteers so made the day a fun day out.
