Moffat Falls is a great place to do some guided catch & release trout fishing.

Moffat Falls Cottage
My husband and I spent two nights at Moffat Falls in July 2014. We had the falls all to ourselves and enjoyed tramping around the nearby sights. With much patience we even saw the fabled Lyre Bird. Spectacular! The self-contained cottage exceeded our expectations nestled beauty and seclusion. The stars were stunning, the wood-burning stove so comfy, two days were not enough even though we missed the fishing season. The high-point for me was when it snowed on us the morning we departed. I would go back anytime.

Katrina helped us to navigate the quagmire of Covid and flood delays in a very professional and efficient manner. She was amazing! My husband also loved the trout fishing excursion with Glen, who was a great and patient teacher, who showed him fabulous places to fish. He caught plenty of fish! We really enjoyed our time there.

Central Lake
Central Lake is the lake located virtually in the centre of the Botanical Gardens. It's the smaller lake on the south side of the larger Ornamental Lake and quite close to William Tell Rest House. A feature of Central Lake is Sayce Island, which I believe was named after horticulturalist Joseph Sayce.

Absolutely amazing location, and the price is good value considering you literally have your own private waterfall - LITERALLY. To walk to it, go to the balcony and look to your right and you will see a tree with a sign on it stating “waterfall this way.” Head to that and you will see the tracks where a 4WD has driven down to the waterfall, follow that track. Will definitely return. I second what someone else said about a fan, and a providing a DVD player with a selection of DVD’s would be helpful - you can buy stacks of DVD’s real cheap at Cash Converters/op shops etc. But fantastic place and can’t wait to bring my partner there to join me next time. So close to world heritage and bush walks galore, heavenly.

Would 100% recommend staying here for a little get away.. a small single bedroom cabin, has a kitchen, bathroom, cooking facilities/ utensils, a little log fire, very remote and secluded, has a little waterfall down at the bottom of the property.which was fun to walk down to. Right in the middle of a few national parks and close to some cool walks and lookouts..A bit of a bumpy dirt road to get there but I'm sure any car would make it..Make sure you bring your own food, cause there isn't any shops or restaurants close by..About 15 minutes to Ebor.

My wife, 3 yr old son and I spent 4 days here. It is a lovely place in a quiet position. The cottage is small but not claustrophobic and it has everything you need. The kitchen has all the utensils and cooking equipment you need except an oven. There is firewood provided but you may have to chop it into kindling. The TV wouldn't pick up broadcast tv (no great loss) but there is a dvd player. Very peaceful few days, we will be back
