Fort Lytton is an important historic site. Built in 1881 and used for the defence of Brisbane until the end of the Second World War, it is a pentagonal fortress concealed behind grassy embankments.

Well preserved large cannons from time long gone. Very nice views across the water. It would make a nice place for a picnic or to have a takeaway lunch.

This is a hidden gem, very enthusiastic volunteers, very knowledgeable and happy to take time to talk to people. Good toilet facilities, take along a picnic as only have snacks, tea and coffee and cold drinks. Well worth a visit. Gold coin donation.

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly volunteers - highly recommend their guided tours. Check the website for the timings and give yourself enough time to travel down.Would be good if you can catch the Canon firing only on certain days and specific timing.Free entry so please donate or purchase their beverages.Formerly on CALTEX land and CALTEX is just beside so you might experience some noise or smells.

This is a piece of history presented in an entertaining and professional way. The guides/actors were great, the surroundings are awesome and the price is very reasonable. Must do...
