Brasserie L'Entrecôte
This restaurant has a friendly and cosy atmosphere, fast service and quality food. It's comparable to other French restaurants we have tried in both in Sydney and Paris, Like any fine dining experience some of the dishes are terrible value while others are reasonable, we enjoyed the duck, green beans with garlic, walnut salad. We enjoyed the scallops, there were 4 which made it easy to share. The steak was ok in flavour, but not very good value. The secret sauce tasted like a fine puree of basil and sage. The steak matched quite well with the sauce from the duck. The desserts looked delicious, but I was unable to fit them in. Maybe next time.

We had a great dining experience here for our wedding anniversary. The crab entree was amazing. The snails and steak for the mains are top notch. The in-house green secret sauce is definitely to die for.

Kittyhawk
We had the pleasure of having our wedding at Kittyhawk and could not recommend it more highly to anyone thinking about doing the same.Jason and the team made our day everything we could have ever asked for and more. We had the ceremony upstairs in the Officer's Mess and the reception downstairs in KH. The Officer's Mess was set up so beautifully with candles and seated each and everyone of our 90 guests.Every one commented on how good the food was with the lamb a particular favourite. The flexibility of the staff to sort out last minute dietary requirements was an amazing touch. Finally, the drinks continued to be on point all night with the old fashion a must have.Once again thank you to everyone involved in making the day so special and to Jason for always being attentive to any questions we had leading up to the big day.Do yourself a favour and get along to Kittyhawk, you'll fall in love with it just like we did.

Luz Restaurant
Great little restaurant situated at the bottom of a hotel with locally sourced produce. Capacity is quite limited so if you are keen I would suggest booking. Food was overall good but felt given such good fresh produce was available the flavours could have been toned down to bring out the fresh seafood. We ordered the scallops for entree which were quite impressively presented - dish was great but would have preferred no curry powder on the scallops. We then ordered the seafood linguini and fish of the day. Generous amount of seafood in the pasta which was nice to see although the seafood in most of the dish was a little overcooked. Unsure if they were cooked together with the pasta but was a shame to taste the scallops prawns and fish overdone. Mussels tasted nice and succulent though. My partner ordered the fish which he was very happy with (especially the butter corn barley the fish sat on). Fish was cooked beautifully also. We ended with the lemon tart which was a nice light citrus finish. Enjoyed the caramelised sugar on top. Overall a nice experience - probably expected a little more for the price but for a small operation it does well.

CRU Wine Bar
Bottomless Brunch is a misnomer. You can have whatever you like as long as you pay for it as per menu price. The fixed price doesn’t seem to exist. No mention of the 10% weekend surcharge on the Bottomless Brunch web page either. Then again, we didn’t get Bottomless anything.Maybe the T&Cs are invalid given “Cru only takes bookings and payments via our reservations page for Bottomless Brunch”. No bookings over the phone or email accepted” … shame the online reservation system doesn’t work and you’re told to call.Very disappointed and feeling hustled.

Went there for lunch for the first time today. Can I just say I will be coming back. The beef bourguignon was absolutely divine, it was flavoursome, melt-in-the-mouth and the sauce reduction was superb. I was transported to France when I took my first bite. Everything from start to finish was excellent. Well done.

Brasserie L'Entrecôte
It was an unusual spot for a French bistro but we hiked it up there .The food was good and well balanced. Maybe a little small on portions, and costs a few extra dollars than what I would price it for, not on the whole, a very enjoyable meal.

Brasserie L'Entrecôte
Very gourmet experience for a reasonable price. Great French food, French music, French staff and French vibes in general. I highly recommend the sirloin! Comes carved already and constantly warmed by candle on the table! Friendly staff and although previous visits precovid the service was slow, they have improved immensely. Desserts are not to be missed and are quite the spectacle. Try an authentic french cider served in a ceramic bowl too!! Highly recommend.

Luz Restaurant
We celebrated our daughter's birthday here at Luz Restaurant lastnight. Started out with the scallops and salmon, followed by the pork belly, barramundi and wallaby for mains and finished off with the chocolate fondant. Every dish was a delight - I partcularly enjoyed the salmon and wallaby and my husband loved the fish. The chocolate fondant was a big hit for the kids. Service was also outstanding! We are from Sydney and will definitely return to Luz Restaurant when we visit Launceston again.

Debutant
Armed with a $100 dining voucher, we knew in advance it wouldn't go far. Debutant offers aged beef options in its menu amongst other protein meals. The restaurant is small and its tables are uncomfortably close to others making for conversations to be overheard. The service was excellent, maybe too many check ins during the service. Our meals were lovely, meat cooked to perfection, mouth watering and flavoursome. When ordering the aged beef options, they do not come with sides so you must order separately, the Paris Mash was creamy and rge garlic mushrooms were tasty and excellent options as sides for our meal. As a bonus, White Rabbit Dark Ale was on offer and I couldn't resist. An enjoyable evening, expensive but a great experience all the same.
