One of the must visit places while you’re in Cootamundra!Right across the train station, don’t be deceived by its vintage looks from the facade, inside the museum lies a treasure trove of surprises with memorabilia from the region’s past that will surely take you back down memory lane. Allow approximately 25 minutes to thoroughly look at the exhibits and there is complimentary tea/coffee as well. The staff are lovely with good knowledge of the region’s history!Open Monday to Sunday.

A great place to while away a couple of hours, even for locals. Promises to be even better when the renovations are completed.

South Australian Whale Centre
The staff here were very friendly, helpful and quick with a joke.Lots of information for all age groups on the history of the whaling industry and more contemporary information about all things maritime. There are 'hands on' displays for a more tactile experience or for younger visitors to experience some of the displays more intimately. The sand pit in the basement would be a lot of fun for the younger generation. There are a few audio visual displays to enjoy and especially the 3D pisplay in the basement theatre is worthwhile. The $9 entry fee is well worthwhile and goes to a good cause.

Great place to visit to see a snap shot of history or for some of us things we knew as kids. Well worth the visit. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. If you have a family connection in the area, go and see the museum and talk to the staff. Well worth the visit.
