The displays at the Woomera Rocket Park are looking better than ever after the recent paint work that they've received. Free to visit and with some great exhibits, this display is worth the small detour (7 kilometres on bitumen) off of the Sturt Highway at Pimba. Each of the exhibits has an easy to read information panel alongside of so you know exactly what each item is.

What an amazing place! We dropped by to break up a long road trip. Big mistake... Should have put aside half a day to really do this place justice. A couple of hours is not enough.I loved the history and finding out the role this facility played in the space race. Kids especially loved the launch simulator in the command module and the hands-on play in the 3rd section of the museum. Pleasantly surprised to see a good range of space based classic arcade machines for us all to play on!Very friendly couple (plus a cat) looking after the place. So happy we visited!

Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium
Nice small planetarium, offering good shows for everyone. I have been there a few times, my 5yo totally loved it. In the end of each show they usually project and explain night sky above Brisbane. One other good thing is that there is a beautiful botanical garden right next to planetarium, which is worth visiting before or after a show.Update 2023: just visited again after a few years, was pleasantly surprised with upkeep of the facility, clean toilets, interactive planetary display, etc. There are a few additions to the items on display, some are 3d printed, which is great to see. There is a number of different space shows to choose from, which is also amazing and quite unlike other planetariums, which only offer 1-2 shows and run them for a long time. Totally recommend, great place to hide from the heat and think about stars for a change.

It was a nice stop off on the way to Mt. Cootha Lookout. Lots of information, great learning experience. Free to go in but shows require admission. Also the beautiful Botanic Gardens are next door as well. Parking available, busy on school holidays

A great little museum on our way up north. We stopped in unplanned and had a great time.Staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome. This place has so much great stuff to see which we found fascinating. We had never heard of this place and we’re driving by and saw it by chance. It’s a shame it’s not advertised better or more well known to people out of town.

Perth Observatory
We were awestruck by the night sky filled with stars visible by the naked eye. It took us to a different realm when looking through the different telescopes. It is heartening to know that the volunteer guide have deep knowledge in astronomy. We also enjoyed buying Perth Observatory souvenirs. We will never get the experience back home.

Very interesting, well maintained & presented. Disappointingly, both indoor museums were closed for the duration of my visit, but that's life in the outback.

Super interesting collection with related information displayed well but it feels a little bit tired and could do with a bit of a refresh and tidy up (high number of power boards and exposed cables running throughout). So much potential given the wide array of items they have amassed and the related history. Friendly staff and reasonable admission price.

Great spot for Astronomy lovers to appreciate some real classic and modern telescopes, without the effect of light pollution. Book a tour online, drop in and be mesmerised by the content on offer.

I brought my wife and 2 teen boys for the night tour . All of us had a fantastic time . It was so much more than we expected. The guides were knowledgeable and super helpful. After the trip, my older boy has decided to go ahead to pursue astronomyin the uni . I plan to visit this place again.
