One Mile Jetty
The jetty is closed off and not accessible to the public. Ancient bits of machinery are interesting, as are some of the items in the big shed.

Love this place with always something interesting to see. You have to check the times they are open though as that could catch you out, but times are easy to find. It’s a pity more people don’t know about it, very easy to just lose an hour or so having a look at all the old stuff and how it all works.

Gold Coast Techspace
The Gold Coast Techspace, is a place for anyone that has an inspiration to create or work with any form of technology. It is open and welcome to all who want to learn or who wish to teach and pass on their knowledge of technology.Open nights are on Wednesdays from 6:00pm. The President Steve Dalton, or one of the other Committee Members (just ask any Techspace member to point you to one of them), I'm sure would be happy to welcome and give a tour of the facilities to any and all members of the public, and especially prospective new members. It's a great place to turn your ideas and concepts into real life products or experiments. Just be careful not to get too caught up with the exciting projects going on or you might be there working and talking till the early hours. It's a fun place with lots going on all the time. Come and have a look.

So sad the shire hasn't got behind fixing up this great piece of local history as it would be a great tourist attraction.

Townsville Museum
Could have been interesting but we felt very uncomfortable as we were followed and watched continuously, as if we were going to steal items. The two volunteers even expressed that they were doing a 'change of the guard' to keep an eye on us. It was so uncomfortable that we only saw half the small museum. Very disappointed.

Has to be one of the best Hackerspaces/ Makerspaces around. It's full of people who REALLY know their technology and are willing to help. The Wednesday open nights are open to anyone so just pop in and say hi.
